“ I am sitting helplessly on a surgical table. A doctor inserts pins near each of my tattoos. Attached to each pin is a thin chain from which a plaque hangs.
Each plaque explains and frames from a sociopolitical perspective the reasons why I decided to mark my body with that particular tattoo. When the doctor has finished his action, the audience can approach me. Each person has to wear a mask and gloves and, in a sensitive way, can study the marks drawn on my skin.
My body becomes historical evidence of what the LGBTQ+ community has been experiencing in Italy, and in Europe, in recent years.”
